This 3D-printed model accurately replicates the Ortner 65' FS-139 skeleton pulpwood car. The prototype was originally manufactured by the Ortner Freight Car Company for MacMillan-Bloedel Inc. between December 1973 and April 1974, operating under the series numbers 71001–71010. In July 1986, the Southern Railway acquired nine of these cars, renumbering them into the 118001–118009 series.
This model features high-resolution resin construction to capture the distinctive open-frame layout and structural ribbing of the prototype's deep bulkheads.
Accurate Structural Geometry: The open-frame skeleton floor and angled side stakes match the original Ortner blueprints for hauling raw timber.
The Perfect Logging Industry Anchor: Ideal for model railroaders building authentic 1970s-to-modern eras, this car adds incredible texture and realism to any freight consist.
